Decanter – World Wine Awards 2019 Edition

Decanter published the results for the 16th Decanter World Wine Awards of 2019. The results were published both online and in a printed edition of their magazine. In a two-week course, 280 of the world’s best wine experts have tasted almost 17,000 wines. This year, 50 best medals were shown, 148 platinum, 480 gold, 4,164 silver and 7,376 bronze medals distributed to wines from around the world. Among them, important awards for our Ferzo Wines and Caroso Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOP lines:

FERZO Passerina IGP Terre di Chieti 2018 – Silver Medal (90 points) 
“Appealing nose with a herbal character, blossom and stone fruits. The palate is smooth with flavours of peach and apricot. Well made.”

FERZO Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOP 2016 – Silver Medal (90 points)
“Nose of dark fruit, with some violets and a hint of tobacco. Robust and concentrated palate with balanced oak and grippy tannins. Persistent.”

FERZO Pecorino IGP Terre di Chieti 2018 – Bronze Medal (86 points)
“Vibrant nose with flowers, citrus and pear, the palate is fresh and lively, with a herbaceous finish.”

CAROSO Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOP Riserva 2015 – Bronze Medal (86 points)
“Dark cherries, loads of tobacco, vanilla and cedar. Smoky, meaty notes on the palate, with big tannins.”
